Vital-Farrow Professor of Management - Healthcare

Deborah M. Mullen, Ph.D., holds the Vital-Farrow Professorship in Management – Healthcare at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Gary W. Rollins College of Business, Department of Management. She is the co-owner of Hindsight Design and Methods, LLC., specializing in healthcare quality and applied clinical research consulting. Deborah has an MS and PhD in Health Services Research and Policy Administration from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, and a BS from Western Carolina University in Psychology. Her mixed methodology research focuses on healthcare strategic management and delivery, technology adoption, implementation of evidence-based operations, organizational theory, and patient care experiences. Honors include recognition for quality as a Juran Scholar and research as a Summerfield Johnson Scholar. As an educator, she credits her classroom success to years spent in healthcare operations and as an improvisational actor/professional singer. In her free time, she plays the cello, reads, travels, creates Tambour fabric art, and mentors middle and high school students for National History Day.
