In this role, work with Amazon Web Services and The Center to create and operate the world’s first social determinants of health (SDoH) Innovation Hub that addresses structural racism as the root cause of disparities such as housing, medical care, neighborhoods free of firearm violence, education, climate change, digital access, food, jobs, and transportation.
• Founder and CEO Kailo Consulting—a strategic consulting company focused on creating multiple stakeholder partnerships to address structural racism.
• Founder and CEO of Leadership Lessons From—a nonprofit that supports leadership development and mentoring of health care leaders from underrepresented populations.
• Previously served for 18 years as a senior executive with the American Hospital Association.
• Classic Ground Theory researcher and academic leader. Adjunct faculty teaching health care ethics in the Healthcare MBA program at Loyola University Chicago; and adjunct faculty, Social Determinants of Health, in the EdD program at Union Institute & University.
• International lecturer and facilitator on comparative health care systems and ethical leadership.
• Father of three adult children.
• Mentor for nearly 20 years to more than 25 highly successful mid- and senior health care leaders.
• Board member and officer with the following organizations: Cafh Foundation; Board of Advisors, Quinlan School of Business; and the Conscious Leadership Guild.
• PhD in Ethical and Creative Leadership from Union Institute & University; a Doctor of Humane Letters from Wittenberg University, Springfield, OH; Master in Public Health from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor; and a B.A. from Wittenberg University. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
