The Health System Simulation, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University
John S. Winkleman is the director of the Health System Simulation and the Consulting Practice at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University where he also teaches marketing.
In 1990, he founded Winkleman Company, a marketing agency, after working in the public relations industry and in the president's office of Clark University and as director of NYC's Greenwich House Music School.
He is trustee emeritus of the Mount Sinai Health System, having chaired its Community Relations committee and as a long-time member of the Public Affairs/Marketing and Executive committees; currently, he is on the Community/Government Relations and Quality committees and of counsel to Marketing.
Winkleman is also on the Advisory Boards of CIVITAS and New Yorkers for Parks. He served on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals—NYC Chapter, was one of the founders of NYC’s National Philanthropy Day and co-founder of the Conference on Sustainability in the Nonprofit Sector.
Winkleman is recognized as an architectural artist, having had his work displayed in Tiffany & Company, in publications and galleries. He was the illustrator for a column in NYC newspapers as well as two published children's books.
