Financial Management
Financial sustainability for public health and community healthcare organizations is getting more and more challenging. Reimbursement rates and payer mixes have not kept up with the growing costs of delivering exceptional care. The traditional methods of cost containment and revenue maximization are pieces to the puzzle and to complete the puzzle, new strategies are required. Investing in growth, revenue retention, data-driven decision-making and maximizing quality outcomes are among the strategies being employed at South Brooklyn Health to close the gap between total expenses and patient care revenue. In this presentation, the South Brooklyn Health team will discuss the progress made thus far, the strategies employed to get there and the strategies being employed to continue this progress. Financial sustainability in community healthcare is possible, and the presenters will outline the roadmap to do so.
