Robert Malte (Bob) serves as the practitioner-in-residence and is a clinical associate professor in the University of Washington Health Management and Informatics Program. He previously served as the CEO of EvergreenHealth, a nationally ranked healthcare system located in Kirkland, Washington, from 2010 to 2018. In 2018, he joined the UW Master of Health Administration faculty, capping a 40-year health management career to help teach the next generation of healthcare leaders. His academic interests include strategy, leadership, organizational systems and governance.

Mr. Malte previously served as president/CEO of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Denver. He has also held senior leadership positions with ThedaCare, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Loyola University Medical Center and Illinois Masonic Medical Center. Mr. Malte has served on multiple boards, including the Washington State Hospital Association, where he is past board chair. He currently serves on the board of trustees of the Lake Washington Institute of Technology and the Kirkland Performance Center. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Chicago.
