Robert Barraco is associate dean of educational affairs/professor of surgery for the USF Morsani College of Medicine-Lehigh Valley Campus. He also serves as chief academic officer at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pa. Dr. Barraco graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1989 and completed his surgical residency in 1997 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a tour of duty with the U.S. Public Health Service. He went on to complete a fellowship in trauma and surgical critical care at the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Following that, he earned a master’s degree in public health from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, concentrating in health policy and management and injury studies. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Regional Medical Campuses and past co-chair of that group’s Planning Committee.
