Advocate South Suburban/Advocate Trinity Hospital
Rashard Johnson is president of Advocate Trinity Hospital, Chicago, and Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Hazel Crest, Ill., which are part of Advocate Aurora Health, the 10th largest not-for-profit, integrated health system in the United States. Mr. Johnson oversees the strategic direction and operation of Advocate Trinity’s 205-bed hospital and provides executive leadership over Advocate South Suburban Hospital’s 230 beds and support services, 700 physicians, 1,100 team members, and building facilities, including oversight of the $98 million construction of a new surgical procedural center that will expand the hospital’s footprint by 90,000 square feet.
Mr. Johnson joined Advocate Aurora Health in 2018. Since then, he has spearheaded several major high reliability safety improvements, enhanced service lines through physician recruitment and led Advocate Trinity and South Suburban hospitals to the lowest readmission rates and the highest hygiene practices compliance rates in the Advocate Aurora system, respectively. Before joining Advocate Aurora Health from the greater Houston area, Mr. Johnson served as vice president of operations/COO of CHI St. Luke’s Health-The Woodlands, Lakeside, and Springwoods Village Hospitals. He earned a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He has been acknowledged as one of the National Minority Quality Forum’s “40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health.” He also is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, the National Association of Health Services Executives and ACHE. Mr. Johnson serves on the boards of directors for the Healthcare Associates Credit Union, the Greater Chicago March of Dimes and the South Side YMCA of Chicago.
