Paul Casey was named acting CMO at Rush University Medical Center in 2019 and took the permanent position of CMO in October 2020. He joined the Rush Department of Emergency Medicine in 2010 after completing training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine training program. He completed his undergraduate education at Boston College and his medical school education at Stritch Loyola School of Medicine. Dr. Casey also completed his Master in Business Administration degree with a focus in healthcare administration. He has served in numerous departmental and institutional leadership roles since joining Rush, including associate CMO, senior patient safety officer, associate chief informatics officer, and vice chairman in the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is board certified in emergency medicine, internal medicine and medical informatics and continues to practice in emergency medicine.
