Odette Bolano, president/CEO, Saint Alphonsus Health System, provides executive leadership and strategic and operational oversight for a 610-bed, five-hospital system across Idaho and Oregon. Immediately prior to this role, from December 2015-2018, she served as president of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center with responsibility for strategic and operational oversight for the medical center. Ms. Bolano has worked in senior leadership healthcare positions in for-profit, nonprofit and fully integrated health systems.

Prior to joining Saint Alphonsus, she served as senior vice president of Kaiser Permanente–East Bay in Oakland, Calif. Prior to Kaiser, she served in numerous senior executive positions with Ascension Health, including president/CEO of St. Joseph Health System in Bryan, Texas, and COO of Carondelet Health Network in Tucson, Ariz. Ms. Bolano began her career as a nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Texas Christian University and her master’s degree in administration of healthcare services from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. An active civic and community leader, she serves as a board member for the Idaho Hospital Association, Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, Boise Valley Economic Partnership, Idaho Business for Education, Boise State University Foundation Board, and Boise State University College of Health Sciences Board of Ambassadors.

Ms. Bolano is an active member of the Carol Emmott Fellowship Board, a national organization committed to mentoring exceptional healthcare women leaders to achieve their highest potential and influence as leaders in healthcare. She recently was appointed to the Idaho Power and IDACORP board of directors. Ms. Bolano was recognized by Modern Healthcare in 2020 as one of the nation’s “50 Most Influential Clinical Executives” and in 2021 as one of the “Top 25 Women Leaders.” In Idaho, she was honored by the Idaho Business Review as a “CEO of Influence” and listed No. 1 in the publication’s “Power 25” list, which names the region’s most influential men and women in healthcare. She was also recognized as one of IBR’s “Women of the Year” in 2019 and 2021 and received IBR’s Icon award in 2021. She is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
