Michael O’Connell, FACHE

Michael O’Connell is COO of Stanford Medicine Partners. In this role, he leads a medical foundation with 70 clinics, 1,200 employees and 350 providers in the San Francisco Bay Area. Previously, he has worked for The Advisory Board Company and Cleveland Clinic. He was a member of ACHE’s Programs, Products and Services and James A. Hamilton Book of the Year committees. He also has served on ACHE of Northern Ohio’s board of directors, including as president. Mr. O’Connell received ACHE’s 2013 Distinguished Service Award and was the 2008 recipient of the Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. Currently, he is on the California Association of Healthcare Leaders’ Regent’s Advisory Council. He also serves on the board of directors for the Medical Group Management Association. Mr. O’Connell is a fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and a Master of Health Administration degree from St. Louis University. Mr. O’Connell is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
