Capt Megan B. Howell serves as support flight commander, 341st Recruiting Squadron, San Antonio. She leads five personnel and is responsible for logistics, IT, realty program and resource management for nine flights and 111 staff. Capt Howell oversees a $1.2 million budget, 57 vehicles and 46 recruiting offices across Texas and Louisiana, covering 125,800 square miles. She is from Walhalla, S.C., enlisted in the Air Force in August 2002 and rejoined as a direct commission in January 2013. She earned her Master of Business Administration and Management degree with a focus on project management from Louisiana State University and was recently dual certified as a process improvement green belt. She has served in various roles, including group practice management, TRICARE operations and patient administration, resource management and group executive officer. Capt Howell is currently working toward her board certification as an ACHE Fellow.
