Maureen Washburn is a healthcare executive with more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare, ranging from leadership development to clinical and operational management. She has experience with aligning program development, implementation and management with mission goals, strategy and accreditation, and regulatory activities; consultation and process reengineering; and organizational performance improvement.

Formerly the chief clinical officer for DNV GL Healthcare, Washburn works in program development and certifications, where she oversees the NIAHO® accreditation requirements and the development of disease-specific certification programs for healthcare organizations. She is a certified professional in healthcare quality, a Fellow of ACHE and a Six Sigma Green Belt. Washburn holds a doctorate in nursing from Case Western Reserve University, has served on the board of two state associations for healthcare quality, is on the board of the Kentucky Center for Performance Excellence, and has served as a master examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Maureen’s psychiatric experience includes past certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse. She is the lead executive on the DNV GL application to the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for deeming authority for psychiatric hospitals.
