Judy Gilbert is a leader with more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare arena. She has a background in patient experience, patient relations, social work and mental health. In her current role at UChicago Medicine, she serves as the manager for the Friends and Family Program and Destination UChicago, aiming to make the patient experience better for all. This includes focus on developing program enhancements and partnerships that will benefit all patients, especially those who are traveling for care. During her 10 years at UCM, she has served as a manager in the ambulatory setting, and as a leader in pediatrics and psychiatry clinics. She has presented at patient experience conferences on the value of forging new partnerships and is soon to be certified as a coach for UCM’s hArt of Medicine program.

One of Ms. Gilbert’s past roles includes being part of the Assertive Community Treatment team for the state of Minnesota, which enabled her to help individuals with mental health issues live in the community. She earned her master’s degree in health administration from Valparaiso University and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Arts degree in human services. She resides in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood with her husband and two teenage sons.
