J. Larry Tyler is chairman/CEO of Practical Governance Group, a team of consultants and academicians interested in good governance and board education. Co-author of Practical Governance, he offers extensive experience in board consulting, advancement and assessments. Mr. Tyler has spoken on governance for numerous hospital associations and health systems. Since 1983, he has served as faculty at ACHE’s Congress on Healthcare Leadership. Among his seminars are “CEO Governance Roundtable” and the governance portion of ACHE’s emersion course. Mr. Tyler also is chairman emeritus of Tyler & Company, a healthcare executive search firm. He’s an adjunct professor in health administration at the University of Colorado Denver and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He earned a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management from Georgia Institute of Technology. He is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
