David Musick joined the faculty and administration at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in July 2013. As associate dean for faculty affairs, he is responsible for oversight of all faculty affairs and faculty development activities. In addition, Dr. Musick serves as director of the interprofessionalism learning domain for the medical student curriculum. He is also a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Musick is the immediate past chair of the Special Interest Group on Innovation and Education for the Southern Group on Educational Affairs of the Association of American Medical Colleges. He graduated from Milligan College in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from East Tennessee State University in 1986 with a master’s degree. In 1996, Dr. Musick received his doctorate in educational evaluation and policy studies from the University of Kentucky with a focus on bioethics education in U.S. medical schools.
