David Carmouche brings over 23 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience to his current roles at Ochsner Health. As senior vice president, community care, he serves on the organization’s senior management team and leads Ochsner’s value-based care delivery organization. As president of the Ochsner Health Network, Dr. Carmouche leads a statewide, clinically integrated network of more than 35 hospitals and 2,700 physicians. His team is responsible for strategy, contracting, performance management, data and analytics, and financial performance of the network.
Prior to joining Ochsner, Dr. Carmouche served as executive vice president/CMO at BCBS Louisiana, the state’s largest commercial insurance carrier with over 1.6 million members. Dr. Carmouche attended Tulane University and LSU School of Medicine-New Orleans. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he later served as chief resident. He is board certified in internal medicine and practiced preventive cardiology at the Baton Rouge Clinic from 1997 to 2012.
