Caroline Costello is a leader with more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare arena. She is a passionate, forward-thinking leader with a deep background in patient experience, strategy, marketing and communications, and grant review. She currently serves at UChicago Medicine as the director for Destination UChicago Medicine programs. In this role, she spearheads key programs to build patient, family and faculty loyalty while harnessing new business opportunities. She is experienced in program development and all levels of hospital operations, and she is a key strategist in building relationships and creating pathways that foster organizational brand. Her other relevant experience includes work at two Arizona-based hospitals, with focus on service excellence and voice of the patient. She also served as the director of communications for Alexian Brothers Medical Center/Health System (now Amita Health) within the Chicago market. She also has served in communications capacities for several professional associations for physicians.

Ms. Costello earned her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Phoenix and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations. She is certified by the Beryl Institute as a patient experience leader. As a speaker, Ms. Costello has presented at national conferences, including Becker’s Healthcare, RL Solutions and Vizient. She also has served as a grant reviewer and policy advocate for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, Washington, D.C., ensuring that research proposals are viable for implementation in the patient care setting. Ms. Costello is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
