Speaker

Sam McAdams, FACHE

CEO
Sunrise Ambulatory Surgical Center

Sam McAdams has been in the healthcare administration field for more than 20 years. He is currently CEO of Sunrise Ambulatory Surgical Center in Lakeside, Ariz. Prior to moving to Arizona during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. McAdams spent most of his healthcare administration career in Oklahoma. He has served as board president of Sooner Healthcare Executives, the Oklahoma ACHE chapter, and later as the ACHE Regent for Oklahoma. As chapter president, Mr. McAdams quickly became an advocate for chapter diversity as ACHE began to emphasize the importance of membership diversification. Mr. McAdams established a diversity and inclusion board position, which he appointed as chair of the Board Selection Committee so diversity would be front and center as candidates were considered for chapter board appointment. This strategy resulted in the appointment of a physician, a leader from the Oklahoma Indian Tribal Health Services network, a leader from the United States Airforce and a medical sales representative to the board, positions that traditionally would have been filled by hospital leaders. This diversification greatly enhanced chapter dynamics and allowed for more robust planning meetings and improved chapter member outreach. Mr. McAdams is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
