Ryan Vass serves on the executive leadership team of one of the largest ACOs in the country, Delaware Valley ACO. Recently acquired by Humana, DVACO is a joint venture between Humana, Jefferson Health and Main Line Health that manages more than 250,000 lives and over $2 billion of medical spend in the greater Philadelphia region across Medicare and commercial lines of business. As DVACO’s director of analytics, he has built and continues to run its analytics department. At DVACO, Dr. Vass led the creation of DVACO Northstar, DVACO’s nationally acclaimed cloud-based analytics application tailored toward large health systems managing risk. Prior to DVACO, Dr. Vass was director of data and analytics at xG Health, a value-based care consulting firm spun out of Geisinger Health System. In this role, he served as engagement lead for xG’s analytic strategy engagements and served as a bridge between xG’s analytics unit and clinical strategy team. Dr. Vass specializes in helping large health system clients leverage their data assets to improve performance under risk-based contracts. Before xG, Dr. Vass served as CMO for Artemis Health, a venture- backed healthcare technology startup whose software product helps self-insured employers analyze and optimize their medical and pharmaceutical benefit, including helping clients measure provider performance and predict patient trajectories. Before Artemis, Ryan served as program manager for learning health systems at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he oversaw a portfolio of data-driven quality improvement programs, including a national collaborative with more than 6 million children. Dr. Vass earned a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare management from the Wharton School of Business. He lives with his wife and two young daughters outside Philadelphia.
