Robin Betts is a leader in clinical innovation and safety transformation. She has dedicated her professional life to patient safety, quality and high reliability systems to elevate safety and quality in healthcare. She has had a distinguished 39-year healthcare career as a pediatric and NICU nurse, nursing informaticist, and executive leader of quality, risk management and safety. As vice president of safety, quality and regulatory services for Kaiser Permanente Northern California, Ms. Betts helps further advance Kaiser Permanente’s nation-leading excellence in quality and patient safety and mental health services and oversees health plan and hospital regulatory oversight and compliance. She sets the vision for patient safety and quality in pursuit of clinical quality excellence. In 2013, the Patient Safety Movement Foundation awarded Ms. Betts with its Humanitarian Award. It recognizes leaders from around the world who have made significant progress in saving lives from preventable medical harm. Ms. Betts holds a Master of Business Administration degree in healthcare management from Brenau University in Gainesville, Ga., a Bachelor of Science degree in information technology and a nursing degree.
