Meaghan K. Meeker, ACNP, CPPS
Meaghan Meeker is provider strategy, policies and operations expert/lead associate at Booz Allen Hamilton in Falls Church, Va. She has over 12 years of clinical nursing experience in the fields of trauma, critical care, post anesthesia care and adult abdominal organ transplantation. She is experienced with patient safety, high reliability organizations and process improvement. Ms. Meeker is passionate about engaging patients in their own care and making the healthcare system safer and more effective for patients and providers. Throughout her career as a nurse and as a board-certified nurse practitioner, her patient-centered passion drove her to serve as a conduit and liaison between patients, their families, providers and the healthcare system. Ms. Meeker brought this expertise and passion with her to Booz Allen, where she oversaw the development of an HRO assessment for the Defense Heath Agency, DHA clinical quality management strategy, and two clinical process improvement projects with the DHA Woman and Infant Clinical Community aimed at improving both maternal and infant outcomes. Ms. Meeker co-authored an article on increased student competence in managing complex patients, use of evidence-based guidelines, patient safety, leadership, prioritization, delegation, collaboration, communication, and professionalism following increased exposure to simulation of complex cases. It appeared in the September/October 2015 issue of the journal Nursing Education Perspectives. Ms. Meeker holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from University at Buffalo and a master’s degree in nursing from Georgetown University. She practiced as a nurse and nurse practitioner in the Baltimore and greater Washington, D.C. area.
