Leigh Starr, FACHE, LSSBB, CMP
Leigh Starr is director, Veterans Health Administration High Reliability Enterprise Support. In this role, she leads support for VHA’s High Reliability Organization transformation, as aligned with VHA quality and patient safety initiatives. She joined the VHA Central Office in 2010 in the VHA Office of Systems Redesign and Improvement, serving as an associate director and the VHA Transformation 21 Systems Redesign Sub-Initiative lead. She later served as the office’s deputy director. Ms. Starr has held operations and quality leadership positions at the VHA network and medical center levels. Previously to, and while at VHA, Ms. Starr served as an Air Force Medical Services Corps officer, retiring in 2020. Among other roles, she served as senior administrator of the 920th Aerospace Medicine Squadron for which she co-led activation. Ms. Starr is a Lean Six Sigma black belt and certified change practitioner. She is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
