Kristin Wolkart, executive vice president/system CNO, has served the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System since 1995. A registered nurse, Ms. Wolkart first joined the health system at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, La., and later transitioned to the system as its chief nursing informatics officer in 2007. With increasing responsibilities for the system’s special projects, Ms. Wolkart was tapped in 2014 to serve St. Francis Medical Center as COO until being named president/CEO later that year. In 2022, Ms. Wolkart transitioned back to the health system as executive vice president/health system CNO. Ms. Wolkart holds board certification as a Nurse Executive, Advanced, from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 1991 before completing a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Kennedy-Western University in Cheyenne, Wyo. She has expertise in hospital operations, strategic planning, business development and creating cultures of high reliability and engagement. She is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
