Jim Allard, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC

Jim Allard is CNO at Medical City Arlington, part of Medical City Healthcare. His clinical and leadership experience spans 24 years in nursing. A driven nurse leader since 2008, Dr. Allard’s interests include civility, diversity, equity and inclusion, shared governance, evidence-based practice, and Magnet and Just Culture principles. His current responsibilities include strategic development and oversight of nursing services in a Level II trauma, comprehensive stroke, 465-bed acute care facility. Prior to his current role, Dr. Allard served in various leadership roles in the Dallas and Houston markets. He earned a Doctorate of Nurse Practice degree at Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in nursing administration from the University of Texas Arlington. He holds certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive Advanced. He is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Texas Nurses Association, the Texas Organization for Nursing Leadership, and the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. He has served on a variety of committees through TONL, TNA, ANA and ACHE. Currently, Dr. Allard is chair of ACHE’s LGBTQ Healthcare Leaders Community Committee and interim Regent-At-Large for District 4. He also serves as chair of the ACHE of North Texas’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. His personal leadership vision is “to develop the leader in every nurse.” Dr. Allard is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
