Heather Woods serves as a project manager and operations lead for the Digital Twin Capability at Booz Allen Hamilton. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human development from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is known as a certified scrum product owner. Ms. Woods leads the Digital Twin project for the Veterans Health Administration Office of Innovation and Learning in collaboration with stakeholders from the VHA National Simulation Learning, Evaluation, Assessment, and Research Network Assessment Collaboration and Outreach team and the VA Construction and Facilities Management team to optimize their design and standards process by creating a proof-of-concept Digital Twin using their emergency room design guides. The collaboration has led to the design and creation of the Digital Twin proof-of-concept to show the value and capability of leveraging this technology in building medical facilities of the future by optimizing layouts with the Digital Twin design simulator and digitizing scenarios developed through the Simulation-based Healthcare Design Testing program, enhancing their current program to help identify latent safety threat and design inefficiencies.
