Dennis Ford has more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare facilities engineering, design and construction. He currently works for Atrium Health, leading the Corporate Facilities Operations division. His duties include representing the Plant Operations and Maintenance departments on all hospital design and construction projects and overseeing project specialists, who bridge the gap between construction and maintenance. Atrium Health has combined with Advocate Aurora Health and now consists of 67 hospitals and more than 1,400 care locations. Mr. Ford received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and started his career in the Air Force, where he led the development of a computerized maintenance management system for military hospitals. He has served as director, facilities engineering, at Baptist Health System in San Antonio, the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. Mr. Ford serves on the advisory board of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, where he has earned fellow status and his Certified Healthcare Facility Manager and Certified Healthcare Constructor credentials. He also serves on the customer advisory board of Facility Survey Incorporated, a CMMS provider, and is an adjunct professor for the University of Texas San Antonio Master of Science in Facility Management program. Mr. Ford received his Master of Health Administration degree from Texas A&M.
