Christopher Walker currently serves as COO of Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. In this role, he oversees strategic planning, clinical practice excellence, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and daily operations for all aspects of inpatient and outpatient surgical and procedural departments and service lines, including emergency, trauma, oncology, cardiovascular and transplantation. Sharp Memorial is a 656-licensed-bed hospital and is the largest, non-university, quaternary care campus in San Diego County. Mr. Walker also leads Sharp Healthcare’s initiative to drive minimally invasive/robotic-assisted surgery excellence at the enterprise level through service-line methodologies. He has 25 years of acute hospital, post-acute and outpatient clinical nursing experience and more than 14 years of progressive advancement in hospital leadership. He has demonstrated the ability to lead organizational change at the highest level with proven results in efficiency and quality. Mr. Walker received his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Saint Louis University and his Master of Science degree from San Diego State University for Advanced Practice Nursing. Since 2006, he has maintained his licensure and credentials in California as a clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner.
