Anthony Stanowski, DHA, FACHE
Anthony Stanowski is president/CEO of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education. He guides CAHME’s strategic vision and operations to advance the quality of healthcare management education globally. Under his tenure, accredited programs increased by 60%, and more than 9,000 students attend CAHME-accredited programs. Established in 1968, CAHME is a programmatic accreditor that accredits 139 healthcare management programs. CAHME has extended its standards to include healthcare quality and safety and population health management. Dr. Stanowski’s career includes executive positions with academic and community health systems, two global Fortune 200 companies and a private healthcare technology firm. A frequent presenter and author, he serves on the Methodist College (Peoria, Ill.) board and several healthcare tech advisory boards. He was a board member of Bon Secours Health System and the American Hospital Association Committee on Governance. He is on the editorial board for Baldrige’s Chronicle of Leadership and Management. Dr. Stanowski received his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduate degrees from Drexel (marketing) and Widener (healthcare administration) universities, and a bachelor’s degree in communications (magna cum laude) from the University of Pennsylvania. He is board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow.
