About the Session
Resilience is defined as the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt well to change and keep going in the face of adversity. The demands of healthcare leadership and the prevalence of burnout in the industry are a compelling call to action for executives to examine the research around resilience and well-being and consider habits and practices that can drive individual and organizational performance. This session will provide you with an action plan and practical resources to deepen your understanding and application of resilience and personal and professional well-being to achieve greater personal and organizational performance. An interactive exercise will introduce you to the Five C’s of Resilience: control—not of our circumstances but of our perceptions about our circumstances; commitment— remembering our values and prioritizing them; connections—using our personal and workplace support systems; calmness—self-regulation, meditation and mindfulness; and care for self—through exercise, nutrition, sleep and time alone.
