About the Session

During this seminar, the presenter will discuss basic crisis leadership traits and characteristics, drawing on his first-hand experience in managing multiple large-scale emergencies within the UCHealth System. The goal of this seminar is to demonstrate to leaders that traditional leadership concepts may not be the most effective approach when dealing with rapidly escalating emergencies. The presenter will place an emphasis on the behavioral health aspects of healthcare crisis leadership.

  • Describe the differences in leadership characteristics that are necessary to successfully manage a crisis within a healthcare organization.
  • Illustrate lessons learned in responding to and managing complex crises within a healthcare system.
