About the Session

This session is focused on providing tools for students who will shortly make the transition from student to executive. The faculty does not touch on dress, resumes or interviewing skills, which are covered through university career centers. Instead, the presentation will touch on the skills that research indicates get young executives into trouble. Develop personal lessons by discussing examples of people making the transition from student to executive. This session, which has been presented at Congress since 2014, will be updated and changed based on feedback from student surveys and personal discussions with attendees in the month following Congress 2017. It also will be based on the faculty’s research during the current year.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop tools appropriate for inclusion in a young professional’s toolkit of skills.
  • Develop personal lessons by discussing examples of people making the transition from student to executive.
