About the Session
Inequities in healthcare have garnered attention for decades, but the topic has gained greater relevancy amid COVID-19 and the elevation of racial injustices. Many healthcare leaders became willing to go beyond perfunctory acknowledgement and more deeply explore the connections between race and health inequities. Courageous conversations began to seek solutions to address the systems and structures that sustain health disparities. Solving the problem of ingrained structural racism and achieving health equity significantly depends on building C-suites that champion inclusion and diversity and reflect all constituents. We must build upon this enhanced awareness to activate concrete steps toward establishing sustainable diversity in the senior ranks of healthcare management. During this session, subject matter experts and healthcare executives will examine research and case studies that demonstrate a key reason for increasing diversity among healthcare executives.
