Leadership Insights: Public Trust, Equity and Leadership

Monday, March 28th

About the Session

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it new and significant challenges at the intersection of health equity and the public’s trust of the healthcare system. Healthcare leaders are uniquely positioned to foster trust among the patients and communities they serve, but in the process, they must navigate misinformation, fear and very real disparities in access to and outcomes of care. Join this important and insightful discussion between Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Alison Arwady, MD, and Former White House Vaccinations Coordinator Bechara Choucair, MD, as they share their experiences with building trust to foster equity in the populations they serve. Dr. Choucair will also discuss the White House COVID Response Team’s vaccination efforts, and how they have been working to combat misinformation and build trust across the country.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the public’s trust of the healthcare system.
