About the Session
You are and have always been a leader. But with every new role and promotion you have received, a pattern emerges. You start excited and with good intentions. You have a rosy vision of what you are going to do, how incredible you are going to be and how you will sidestep the mistakes you have seen others make in the past. But then something unexpected happens. Reality doesn’t match up with your expectations. You find you have too much to do and not enough time to do it. Priorities and strategies seem to blur under the seemingly endless daily to-do lists, which are like a hydra monster: as soon as you chop one thing off, two more things emerge. You recognize that systems are hierarchical, bureaucratic, risk averse and slow to make a decision. Your colleagues are driving you crazy. You are juggling life and work to make everyone happy—except yourself.
