About the Session

The post-pandemic opportunity for system growth will be unprecedented. This program will provide a historical review of M&A trends in the industry and introduce new tools to evaluate opportunities in the current environment. Lecture, case studies, a deal checklist, market analysis and a financial model will be provided to participants. We are in the midst of an unprecedented dislocation of the global workforce. To date, 36.5 million Americans have filed for unemployment (through the week of May 4, 2020), and many will lose health insurance benefits as a result. In addition, hundreds of hospitals announced furloughs and layoffs in response to the lack of normal activity the pandemic has mandated. The combination of these factors is placing significant stress on the financial performance of hospitals across the country.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how the partnership and M&A world has changed post COVID-19.
  • Apply new tools and learnings to the evaluation of opportunities, which will become more plentiful in the post-pandemic market.
