About the Session

This seminar will explore all the key elements of considering, designing and implementing a systemization or regionalization strategy for philanthropy. The elements discussed are designed to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and bottom-line impact of philanthropy as a core revenue source. Faculty will share a comprehensive and holistic look at the moving parts, potential stumbling blocks and critical levers needed to advance systemization of philanthropy. Points covered will include motivations for pursuing this type of philanthropy strategy (the “why”); legal structures and documentation, volunteer and staff structures, and funding (the “what”); how to define a vision (the “where”); and strategy, including organizational structure, executive leadership’s role, board engagement, reporting lines, and metrics and benchmarking (the “how”).

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the key business and relational outcomes needed to achieve an agile and aligned systemization or regionalization structure for philanthropy.
  • Uncover the key levers for accelerating financial performance and the sticking points and stumbling blocks that have impeded other organizations.
