About the Session

The movement toward value-based care and reimbursement is evident given the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ investment in bundled payment programs as well as other care and payment model demonstrations disseminated by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation. Existing and emerging models, such as BPCI Advanced, demand a mix of methodologies and capabilities on behalf of organizations to manage change across all levels of the organization and operationalize incentives to generate a blueprint for value-based success. This session will discuss how healthcare organizations and leaders can overcome value-based care challenges to champion a successful change management strategy and redesign traditional thinking and practice patterns. Through the lens of a convener and health system participant in BPCI Advanced, healthcare executives will better understand strategies to impact care quality and lay the foundation for the continued adoption of value-based care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine and analyze applicable approaches for mitigating change amid value-based care models.
  • Review real-world examples of value-based care demonstrated by a large health system and BPCI Advanced participant.
