About the Session

Main Line Health and Navigant collaborated in 2017 to maintain MLH’s historical financial excellence as margin pressures continued to mount. The assessment estimated possible cost savings and revenue enhancement of $120 million. The approach was to break the opportunities into four workstreams—clinical transformation, workforce, physician enterprise and corporate services—with a project management office responsible for overall project oversight. Leaders were assigned from MLH and Navigant for each workstream. During this session, the presenters will engage the audience in learning from this case study through workgroups that will be segmented into the four workstreams. Participants will report their solutions to questions posed in each area of study.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how a clinical transformation workstream can redesign care streams, help create systemness and standardize processes.
  • Discuss the benefits of a physician enterprise workstream in extracting economic opportunities with employed and contracted physicians while better matching goals and incentives.
