About the Session

Stress, caused by the increasing pace of change, is ever present, and our caregivers need tools in order to stay healthy and focused. This session will provide ideas, techniques and resources to help you build a mindfulness program that fits your organization’s culture. The presenters will cover the how and why of Cleveland Clinic’s program, the definition of mindfulness, including how it differs from other practices, current research on its benefits, especially for people in healthcare, and practices that support mindfulness. Much of the session will be devoted to practicing mindfulness and de-briefing techniques and to creating an action plan for you to integrate these techniques following the session.

  • Define mindfulness and differentiate it from other stress-reduction practices.
  • Review current research on the benefits of mindfulness, particularly for healthcare workers.
