About the Session

This session will address challenges related to nursing workforce trends and leadership development with which many organizations currently grapple. This solution-oriented educational session will use WellStar Health System’s strategy as a case study for considering various leadership development approaches including Baseline Leadership Assessments, the 9 Box Succession Management Approach, resiliency training, and outcomes of these approaches. After attending this session, participants will be able to assess their organization’s current approaches related to nursing leadership development and whether its strategy will meet future workforce needs. Additionally, they will be better equipped to create a long-term vision and the metrics for success related to a comprehensive nursing leadership development strategy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Assess current and future needs of an organization’s nursing leadership workforce in the context of national demographic changes within the nursing population.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of an organization’s nursing leadership development program based on determined metrics of success.
