This seminar will provide a wider context for understanding joint ventures as an entry mode of choice for the service industry, with particular focus on the challenges of forming international joint ventures. Faculty will share numerous examples of successful joint ventures, challenges organizations have faced and what lessons can be learned.

Faculty will use a case study to illustrate the challenges of international joint ventures. Particular focus will be given to how to select partners and how to manage the relationship to drive successful international growth. You will review two practical models designed to provide key takeaways to help you address similar challenges. You will learn a model for deciding on international joint venture partners. The model will help to align organizational cultures and visions to help you understand potential partner fit. Once the partnership is up and running it is important to maintain constant flow of focused communication. You will take away a communication checklist to help ensure you are undertaking regular and focused communication to strengthen the relationship.
