About the Session

Building the core capabilities required for success in value-based payment models requires a methodical, financially prudent approach with key considerations for provider readiness, culture, market dynamics, financial success and sustainability. Determining the speed that an organization should take in this transformation is critical to clinical, financial and market success, especially when considering taking on two-sided risk. Through Premier’s work with health systems in more than 200 markets across 40 states, the faculty have identified the keys to success for operationalizing an effective transition to value-based payment and increasingly taking on risk. This session will walk attendees through these keys to success as well as opportunities in the public and private sectors. You will become well-versed at assessing your organization’s readiness for managing risk before diving into two-sided risk arrangements with public or private payers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand market dynamics, opportunities and timing for success in two-sided risk models.
  • Review insights around the methodical approach that must be taken for these models and the core clinical, financial and operational capabilities health systems need to achieve success.
