About the Session

This session will be a hiatus for frazzled healthcare executives who desire to make a positive impact on their organizations but are running on almost empty. The presenters will share evidence-based interventions in creative ways, including interactions with small groups and time for reflection. There will be ample sharing of resources and ideas to take home and savor. Faculty will review solutions and ideas that have been generated from the Global Forum on Innovation in Health Professional Education’s “A Systems Approach to Alleviating Work-Induced Stress and Improving Health, Well-Being, and Resilience of Health Professionals Within and Beyond Education”; the National Academy of Medicine’s “Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience”; and the NAM’s “Systems Approaches to Improve Patient Care by Supporting Clinician Well-Being.” This session will be interactive and unique in an “unconference” conference format.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the findings of the National Academy of Medicine’s “Systems Approaches to Improve Patient Care by Supporting Clinician Well-Being and Resilience” and apply nine organizational strategies for executive leaders.
  • Articulate and practice the PERMA evidence-based model for flourishing.
