About the Session

This seminar will address the evolution of diversity and inclusion work related to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender-plus population in healthcare organizations. Faculty will focus on the linkage between programs that advance inclusion for the healthcare workforce and improved access and outcomes for the patient population. Significant focus will be given to the Healthcare Equality Index and workforce diversity and inclusion metrics.

As a result of attending this session, you will be able to immediately assess your organization’s current approaches related to diversity and inclusion and determine whether they are in alignment with best practices for LGBTQ+ healthcare equality. You also will be better equipped to create a long-term vision and strategy to achieve a more inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ population in your community.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your LGBTQ+ programs based on outcomes achieved within organizations that are exemplars in LGBTQ+ inclusion.
