About the Session

In 2016, BayCare, the Tampa Bay area’s largest health system, was facing overcrowded EDs, impending threats from its competitors and the challenge of launching its first telemedicine app, BayCareAnywhere. At the same time, it was thinking about how it could help educate consumers and direct care usage based on symptoms, especially during peak flu season. During this session, discover how the organization developed and launched the HealthNav app and the successes it has achieved. Since its launch at the end of November 2016, HealthNav has generated nearly 20,000 downloads and has helped the organization achieve several key performance indicators related to goals including urgent care reservations set, BayCareAnywhere appointments, navigation routes to BayCare EDs and phone calls made to physicians. The app has an average rating of 4.0 on app stores, and more than 80,000 people have visited the landing page to learn more about it.
