In addition, increasing rates and provider burnout have led to unprecedented workforce shortages that have driven additional challenges in the goal towards zero harm. These needs have led to the Triple Aim evolving to the Quadruple Aim and now the Quintuple Aim for healthcare improvement, with care team well-being and advancing health equity as added components of the model.
