A Telehealth Journey to Improve Access to Care While Optimizing the Patient and Provider Experience

This session will share key learnings from one medical center’s journey to transform its delivery model during COVID-19. Harnessing more flexible telehealth regulations during the pandemic, MMC Psychiatry innovated its traditional care delivery model in the ambulatory and inpatient medical/surgical consultation settings. Beyond ensuring the telehealth approach was aligned with high-quality patient care and reimbursement, MMC also learned strategies to enhance provider autonomy, morale and retention through providing greater opportunities for remote work. Almost three years in, presenters are delighted to share lessons learned and preview how MMC plans to extrapolate these insights to support other areas of the system.
