08H - Developing Transformative Physician and Executive Leaders Leveraging Contemporary Tools
Monday, March 20
2:00–3:00 p.m.
This session will share how a thoughtful multi-method approach to assessment and development of critical healthcare leaders can drive the achievement of the organization’s strategy through accelerating each leader’s individual development. Previous approaches to leadership development have failed to balance standardization with customization. And too often, leadership development can take the form of a self-guided endeavor that neglects the organizational strategy and is overly reliant on subjective insights as the basis for development. At the other extreme, leadership development can be overly structured with a rigid one-size-fits-all approach that fails to engage leaders and ignores their individual motivations and development needs. In this session, Cleveland Clinic leaders will share tools and processes that guide an assessment-based approach to developing physician and executive leaders through aligning leader needs with organizational culture and strategy.
