Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Women’s Health and Genomics
CVS Health
My passion has always been women’s health. That’s because women not only play a critical role in managing their own health care, but also have an outsized influence on the health of their children, partners, parents and communities.
With more than 20 years in the field both as a practicing OB-GYN and health policy expert, my mission is to help solve for women’s health needs through clinical, policy and societal lenses. How can we address not just the medical needs women have, but also the environment in which medicine is practiced? We need to start by ensuring our clinical solutions are evidence-based, increasing access in novel ways, and addressing disparities as foundational barriers versus thinking of them as merely an afterthought to health care.
In my role as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Women’s Health and Genomics at CVS Health, I am working to improve women’s access to quality, holistic and culturally competent care throughout their lives. I am responsible for overseeing programming and messaging behind women's health and genomics, as well as gene therapy strategy, policies, and clinical programs across our businesses. Our company’s mission is to help women and their families achieve their health care goals by providing clinically grounded, personalized, equitable, accessible, and affordable health care services.
Education and understanding are keys to better health care. I work to ferret out known health care gaps, develop medically sound policies and programs that get at the heart of what women need, and use my clinical expertise to help drive the innovations and services that will transform health care in the U.S. It’s more than a job. It’s my lifelong passion.
