Safety & Quality
The importance of focusing on quality, as validated by the voice of the patient in patient experience (PX) surveys, cannot be overstated. In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, patient-centered care is the cornerstone of successful healthcare delivery. PX scores serve as a reflection of the care provided and the patient's perception of that care. They encapsulate not only outcomes but also the holistic experience of healthcare encounters. By prioritizing quality, providers can ensure that patients receive effective and safe care. This influences outcomes and safety, reducing errors, complications and adverse events. Simultaneously, it positively impacts PX through confidence, trust and satisfaction in healthcare services. Ultimately, the convergence of quality and PX benefits all stakeholders: patients receive better care, providers deliver improved services and organizations gain a competitive edge. Focusing on the validation of quality through the voice of the patient creates a relationship that elevates standards and promotes the highest level of care. The challenge is focusing communication and tactics around quality of care that engages and speaks to clinicians. Thus, quality and PX improve simultaneously.
This session targets existing gaps in healthcare delivery by developing strategies to empower healthcare providers to enhance PX through targeted quality improvements; assessing PX scores and utilizing them effectively for continuous quality improvement; and providing a framework for integrating quality and PX data to act on improvement opportunities. Building multidisciplinary teams and leveraging data ensures agile and effective quality improvement processes, fostering leadership engagement and cross-collaboration for sustained healthcare excellence.
